The most important part troubleshooting/serving is opening up the fold mechanism by removing the cap and checking the condition of the internal gears and then if they appear in good working order clean and lubricate the mechanism.
Difficulty Folding and/or Opening Stroller
Pop the cap off the inside of the fold mechanism and check the condition of the fold mechanism:
Check for:
- Signs of damage or wear to the moving parts.
- Loosing or missing screws
- Missing "teeth" on the gears
- Any visible dirty or debris
If it appears intact clean out of any dirt/debros and then apply a GREASE lubricant to the parts inside the fold mechanism. If you don't have a grease lubricant you can use Petroleum Jelly (ie products like Vaseline). Spray lubricants like silicone spray or WD40 may only offer temporary release.
Allow up to 24 hours for the application to get into those parts – try moving them to free up the
folding mechanism.
Difficulty Folding Stroller
Apply Lubricant Spray (for example Lube Rice) in between the Pull to Fold Handle and
mechanism on the top section. See photo below
If this works and your fold mechanism is now moving freely we recommend repeating this process as part
of general maintenance every 3-6 months, as well as lubricating all wheels and other moving parts, to
ensure your stroller is performing optimally.
For older models only - Check the fold safety lock is released.
If you do find the gears or internal parts appear broken, or troubleshooting doesn't resolve the issue you can purchase a replacement following the link below:
