The city select LUX handlebar grip slipping down the handlebar can be easily fixed by pushing the rubber back up the handlebar. This won’t damage the stroller in any way and is perfectly safe.
It can be easier to do on a warm day when the rubber is more pliable and easier to push back into position.
A couple of things to be mindful of that can cause the rubber to slip include:
- Exposure to heat – for example in the car on a hot day. This will make the rubber more easily shifted on the handlebar.
- Hanging third party products off the handlebar (nappy bags etc)
- Sometimes your hand placement – in combination with a warmer day – can push the rubber down over time
We do see this occurring more often in warmer weather, particularly with the select models when in double mode because the combination of heat and the dragging movement when turning the fully loaded stroller. However we haven't seen any long term damage occurring from this action over time- ie we haven't had customers come back with this issue with the rubber deteriorate or loosening over time.
