Fold Mechanism Troubleshooting city mini / city mini GT / city elite

If you are unable to fold, or having difficulty folding your Baby Jogger city mini, city mini GT or city elite please check and perform the following troubleshooting:

UNABLE TO FOLD/DIFFICULTY FOLDING

• Check red locking tabs on frame are unlocked. This is a safety feature that will prevent the frame folding. 

• Check the pull to fold strap has been threaded through the seat fabric and that both carabiners are attached correctly to the fold arms (see below) 

If the pull to fold strap hasn't been attached to the frame see this video showing how to remove fabrics for washing. 1:14 - 1:30 shows unthreading the pull to fold strap from the fabric  Reverse these steps to rethread. 

• Ensure fabrics are not caught in the folding mechanism.
  
  
• Adjust seat to slight recline ( Backboard may be pressing on fold mechanism & stopping from
  operating)
  
  
• On the frame, the folding mechanism metal levers need to be straight to function. An upright seat
  may bend these. This will need to be straightened to allow the fold to operate.
  
  
• The Carabiner from the Pull to Fold strap is not caught/jammed in the folding mechanism. These
  should hang freely (see picture below)
  
  
• Apply spray lubricant into where the metal leavers meet the frame. We recommend Lube Rice lubricant if available, otherwise WD40 etc will work. 

• Apply spray lubricant into fold joint on frame. (Remove or cover seat fabric to avoid getting lubricant on fabrics)
