4moms mamaRoo Sparking when plugging in

To avoid seeing a momentary spark when plugging in your 4moms swing or bassinet into a wall outlet or when connecting the power cord into the base please ensure that your power outlet / power point at the wall is switched of prior to plugging in the cord. 

The mamaRoo contains capacitors – electronic storage devices – that charge when first plugged in. The action of plugging in the power supply, draws a brief burst of power that can cause a momentary spark.

If you notice continuous sparking or smoke at anytime you should contact a certified electrician immediately to have your house and wall outlet inspected.

We also recommend consulting an electrician to inspect the power outlet if the spark is occurring when the power at the wall is switched off as this would indicate an issue with the power point, rather than the unit, as no power should be able to flow through when the power is switched off at the wall.
