If the lights/screen is flashing or flashing number displaying on the screen, followed by the power shutting off this indicates an obstruction error.
If there no lights or screen flashing see alternative troubleshooting below:
- Will not turn on at all - Absolutely No Power
- Turning on but then is turning off (without any lights or flashing)
Quick checks to resolve an obstruction error:
- Make sure the unit has enough space for the complete range of motion.
- Check around the sides of the base for small obstructions (ie paper clip/puzzle piece/a coin)
- Check the recline latch at the back of the central arm is engaged (4moms mamaRoo swing ONLY)
- Ensure your infant isn't attending roll/crawl/sit forward as this can damage the unit and trigger the obstruction error.
Try Dislodging Obstruction
As a last effort to resolve an obstruction error some customers have had success shaking the base firmly to either realign or dislodge something that may be stuck inside the internal mechanisms.
Note: as we don't stock internal spare parts for the base or have technicians qualified to repairer electronic items if the troubleshooting doesn't resolve the issue the only solution would be to completely replace the base. So you can't make the issue worse or void your warranty by following the steps below:
- Remove the power cord, seat and central arm from the base. (See manual attached. Disassembly instructions page 22)
- Tip the base upside down and shake firmly.
- Place the base down, plug in the power cord and test the base (you can leave the seat off to test if the base will operate normally)
- Repeat steps 2-3 a few times as it doesn't always work on the first attempt.
If this doesn't resolve the issue it's likely that the internal mechanisms of your 4moms product are damaged and so you will need a complete replacement base to resolve this issue.
See common causes of internal obstruction for future reference.
