The first thing to try if your your camera is unable to turn on/connect is to try to reset the camera. Please see linked below how to do this.
How To Reset Nanit Camera
When you do reset your camera please ensure you hold for at least 10 seconds - using a timer or counting slowly ie "1 Dog and Cat. 2 dog and cat" etc and if the lights do come on at this stage give the camera a few minutes to fully turn on and connect to your devices.
If this doesn't resolve the issue try testing the camera on a different power point in the house and with a different USB power adapter - repeating the steps above to reset and give time for the camera to "wake up" after being plugged in.
If this hasn't resolved the issue can you confirm the following:
- No lights come on when you attempt to reset the camera
- There was no click sound (the camera should make a very quiet click noise when it's turning on)
- The camera does not feel slightly warm to touch when plugged in to power for at least 10 mins
If the camera feels slightly warm to touch after being plugged in this would indicate that the power cord housed in the stand is providing power to the unit but there is an issue within the camera itself. So what you will need is a replacement camera head.
If the camera feels cold it's difficult to confirm if the issue is with the power supply from the stand or with the camera itself.
If you have access to another Nanit stand (at home or if you're local to the place of purchase and they have a Nanit camera on display) please repeat the steps above.
Please note retailers may not have a display available and often don't stock replacement stands/spare parts in store. It's best to check with the store directly to avoid disappointment.
