Activity
The Activity tab is the hub for all events that occurred while your baby is in the crib. Events are stored in chronological order and include video clips of all your baby’s activities and sleep summaries. From this screen, you can view, comment on, and easily share moments with ease.
Calendar slider - Easily view your child’s activity history by choosing a date from the calendar slider. If you’re subscribed to Insights Ultimate, you’ll have access to activities past 30 days.
Activity feed - Contains chronological events of your baby’s activities from that day and night, and your baby’s sleep summaries.
At the top of the Activity feed, you can choose whether you’d like to view “Insights Only” or “All Activities” by adjusting the toggle. Insights are activities related to our smart analytics and include when your child wakes up, falls asleep, receives a visit, and day or night summaries. By switching to “All Activities”, you’ll also see sound and motion events.
Note: The default view while using the wall stand is “Insights Only”. The Multi-Stand does not support smart analytics, so the default view is “All Activities”.
Day/Night sleep summaries - Your child’s sleep summaries are stored chronologically in the activity feed. Night summaries are generated each morning, while day summaries are generated when your baby’s night starts.
Comment on, save, and share moments - The Activity tab allows you to comment on, save, and share each moment and summary by tapping the comment or share button under the moment you’d like to share.
Nights
The Nights tab is the analytical center of the Nanit app. Learn how well your baby slept and discover ways to improve their sleep using their Night Score, Sleep Efficiency percentage, amount of Time Asleep, number of Visits, and Sleep Onset time.
Calendar navigation - Easily view your child’s nights history by choosing a date from the calendar slider. If you’re subscribed to Insights Ultimate, you’ll have access to activities past 30 days.
Night score - Get a quick glimpse at the quality of your child’s night. The night score is symbolized by a colored baby emoticon and contains a short sentence describing your child’s night.
Metric dashboard - Discover if your baby is sleeping well by observing their sleep efficiency, amount of time asleep, number of visits, and sleep onset.
Night time lapse/graph - Watch a time lapse of your child's night and see the moments your child wakes up, falls asleep, receives a visit, and is taken away from their crib in a night; or view these moments on a color-coded graph.
How is the Night score formulated?
The Night score is formulated by the four metrics shown underneath it in the Nanit app. Depending on how the night went for you and your child, the Night score emoticon will either be green, yellow, red, or grey.
- Your child passed all four metrics and had a Great night.
- Your child passed three of the four metrics and had a Fine night.
- Your child passed two or fewer metrics and had a Rough night.
- There was not enough data to calculate your child’s Night Score.
Sleep Efficiency
The percentage of time your child was asleep in the crib, compared to their total time in the crib. Anything above 70% is considered good.
Time Asleep
The amount of time your child was asleep during the night. Sleep times over 8 hours are considered good.
Visits
The number of times that you physically interacted with your child in the crib area. This includes covering them with a blanket, picking them up, and feeding them. If you go to the crib just to check on your baby, our algorithms detect it, and we won't consider it a visit. Below three visits in one night is considered good.
Sleep Onset
The amount of time it takes for your baby to fall asleep after they’ve been placed in the crib. Any time shorter than 30 minutes is considered good.
Night graph
Using the color-coded graph, quickly see when and how many times your child woke up, fell asleep, received a visit, and was taken away from the crib in a night.
- Your child woke up.
- Your child fell asleep.
- Your child received a visit.
- Your child was taken away from the crib.
- The camera disconnected.
